What was your season highlight?

It was such a good season this year. There was one week at Pipe and Off The Wall that was so good. It was pumping every single day. So many good waves, it was a joke.

Are you calling it the best Hawaiian tubes you’ve surfed?

For sure. I finally got a few solid barrels at Pipe, which was so sick.

No horror wipeouts this year? [Brenno pulled into the biggest closeout of the 2007 season at Off The Wall.]

No, mate. Thankfully. [Laughing.]

Which BKII contenders did you see ripping?

I saw Craig get a few super fun ones out at Pipe. It was still pretty solid. Craig was just cruising in the barrel. He looked super comfortable; a little too comfy actually [laughing]. I also saw Hippo get a few big barrels. He was going mad one day. Just taking off deep and picking them off. He can ride a tube that’s for sure.

How did you or any of the other BKII lads go with the ladies?

I had a few lined up and we were ready to roll, but the local boys all stole them off me [laughing]. Hazza’s got a girl so he didn’t get involved. I heard Woody hooked up with a chick. He didn’t get a root or anything, but just hooked up with her. I heard she had huge ankles though. Really massive kankles! [Laughing.]

How would you rate your season out of 10?

Geez that’s a tough one... probably a seven or an eight. I had a sick time over there. Really fucken sick actually.
