Tell us about your best wave this season?

I got this five or six-foot nugget out at Backdoor one day. It wasn’t massive or anything like that, but it was an absolutely perfect one. I also got a few waves at Sunset too, which were pretty amazing.

Who do you reckon was the best Black Knight performer in Hawaii?

Brenno for sure. I surfed with him a fair bit and saw him get a couple of sick ones at Pipe one day. I also saw Hippo and Craig getting a few, but I didn’t surf with them all that often so I can’t really judge them.

Who went the best with the chicks?

I dunno if anyone got chicks, a few boys have chicks at home... actually Brenno did all right I think. He definitely ripped in one night. I managed to get one chick, but she was a bit of a heapa. The same chicks were at the same parties all the time, and if any of ’em were hot they certainly didn’t want anything to do with me.

Tell us about your best wipeout?

I got absolutely annihilated at Sunset one day. I just copped these massive mounds of water on the head and they didn’t seem to stop. I also copped a couple of poundings out at Off The Wall.

What was the funniest thing you saw a Black Knight surfer do in Hawaii?

Watching Brenno sleep was pretty funny. [Was he snoring or talking?] Nah, not really. It was just funny to watch him sleep.
