Did you get some good waves?

I didn’t surf much, but I tore into Off The Wall a few times. I didn’t get any good ones but; just a few closeouts.

Did you see any of the BKII boys charging?

Hippo was charging that hard he was calling himself off waves. Nah, just messing with ya [laughing]. But I did see Hippo get burnt on two of the best Backdoor waves I’ve ever seen and there was nothing he could really do about it.

Who surfed the best overall?

Probably Brenno, but maybe it looked like he was pulling into the biggest ones because he is so little.

Did you see any of the Black Knight crew hooking into the local wildlife?

I saw Brenno hooking up with one chick. Woody apparently hooked in to this local hillbilly chick. Everyone told me she had kankles.

Any loose nights on the piss?

Dean [my brother) and I went to Jamie O’Brien’s house one night and started telling him to stop claiming waves. We started jumping up and down on his bed, and had a fight with him. We grabbed his peewee 50 motorbike and rode it through the house. As we left, we stole one of his Wade Tokoro boards. The next day Jamie asked if we stole his board. Dean and I were like, ‘What are you talking about?’ Then one of Jamie’s mates asked the crew next door if anyone had seen a brand-new Tokoro and they found one. Jamie started blowing up at us, and Dean then just told him it was, ‘Hawaiian taxes, mate!’
